« The Brightside Of It All » is about resilience, acceptance, and letting things go. My father was sick at the time; he had lost vision. I could tell he was reflecting a lot about the past - the good things, the bad things, pride, regrets - and he knew what was going to be the next step… He had made peace with it. Loneliness and depression were paying him daily visits. He was hanging there, waiting patiently for the bright side of it all.
